A cumulative FD compounds quarterly: ₹1,00,000 for 5 years is ₹1,41,478 at the 7% example rate, and ₹5,00,000 is ₹7,07,389. The table covers every deposit from ₹50,000 to ₹50,00,000; each amount's page shows 6.5% and 7.5% too, and the FD calculator takes your own bank's rate.

FD maturity at every amount and term
Each row is a single deposit compounded quarterly at the 7% example rate, before tax — example rates, not a quote, chosen from the spread on bank cards in October 2026. Tap an amount for its own page with three rates side by side.

Tax and TDS on FD interest
FD interest is added to your income and taxed at your slab rate in the year it accrues, even when a cumulative deposit pays nothing until maturity. A bank deducts TDS once its interest to you passes ₹50,000 in a year, or ₹1,00,000 for a senior citizen, so the money in hand is below the maturity figures above.
Why example rates
Each bank sets its own FD rates by term and age and revises them often, and Muktify does not quote or compare banks. The FD calculator runs the same arithmetic at the rate on your own deposit offer.
Frequently asked questions
What is the formula for FD maturity?
A = P × (1 + r/400)^(4t) for a cumulative deposit compounded quarterly, where P is the deposit, r the annual rate in per cent and t the term in years.
Which rate do these tables use?
6.5%, 7% and 7.5% a year as examples. The hub shows the middle one; each amount's page shows all three, and the FD calculator takes your own bank's rate.
Is FD interest taxable?
Yes, at your slab rate as it accrues. Banks deduct TDS once their interest to you passes ₹50,000 in a year (₹1,00,000 for senior citizens).
Does a longer FD always pay more?
In total, yes, at a given rate, because interest compounds on interest. But banks set different rates for different terms, so compare the actual rate offered for each term in the calculator.
